Senior Editorial Specialist Suellen Wenz has our backs as she proofs and edits a variety of documents, especially those surrounding marketing campaigns (e.g., appeal letters and all their accompanying pieces). She also works on e-mails, print and e-newsletters, Web pieces and updates, the Compassion blog, brochures, co-branded items (DaySpring, Kerusso), video scripts, Compassion Magazine, event packets, stewardship and major donor reports and whatever else comes her way!
She’s been at Compassion nearly five years, and prior to moving to Colorado Springs worked as an editor for the Urban Institute, an economic and social policy research organization in Washington, DC. Previously she worked as an editor for EEI Communications, Tyndale House Publishers and the State University of New York Press, and served as managing editor for Delmar Publishers.
This industry veteran keeps it fresh. “I really enjoy seeing a project through from start to finish, making sure that it’s done as close to perfect as possible!” she says. “There is great satisfaction in working on a project that has a positive outcome for Compassion and ultimately children in poverty. I’m happy my job is so much more than just a job!”
Suellen lives with her family in Briargate, where in her free time she enjoys walking, movies, music, reading (it’s true), entertaining at home, and travel. Suellen says the most interesting “and hottest” place she’s ever visited is Bali, Indonesia.
